Familia Bom Brill (2012)

Familia Bom Brill (Long-Distance Family) is my thesis film from Columbia College Chicago. It’s a 20 minute documentary about my courtship with Diana Gabriel and her relationship to Vicky, the Mother she left in Colombia at the age of 13. It screened in the 2011 MFA Thesis Showcase at Film Row in Chicago’s South Loop as well as The 2nd Annual Immigrant Immigration Summit at Malcolm X College.

In the Spring of 2012, Diego Trejo assembled a sound design team that brought new life to the film. Matthew King also let me use some music he’s been developing for a project he calls Dreamscape and composed some original music for the film as well.
